18.00, Menza pri koritu

Discussion About Prostitution

Moderator: Mitja Blažič

Participants: dr. Majda Hrženjak (Peace Institute), Katjuša Kodele Kos (Association Ključ), Marlenna and dr. Zoran Kanduč (Institute for Criminology).

Leaving moral judgments aside, we will reflect on different views of prostitution. We will focus on the role of prostitution in Slovenian and global society from the point of view of Slovenian legislation and sex workers’ point of view. We will discuss prostitution in relation to trafficking of women, to gender differences in the trade and the changes brought by the decriminalization of prostitution in Slovenia. (The debate will be in Slovenian language only.)

Two paper theatre monologues

*

21.00, Klub Monokel

Exhibition opening

Nino Jaeger (Austria): Pipistrello: Dolce Vita

Porn photo story inspired by Mozart's Figaro's Wedding (Chérubin's Aria) stages the sexual encounter between the bat/vampire sex doll Pipistrello and the flesh-and-blood worker. Their sexual act transgresses gender and sex roles thus showing that the idea of the one and only true love, desire and sexuality as depicted in Figaro's Wedding is merely an illusion.

Thursday March 8th 2007 – International Women's Day!

16.00, SOT-24,5

Workshops

1000 Tiny Sexes

This workshop seeks to catalyze creative thinking about the ways that sex is multiple (more than just MALE or FEMALE). With the help of images and stories about tiny and always differently incarnated sexes we will treat ourselves to tiny exercises in thinking outside of the gender box.

Peeping

The peep-box view is a limited view. When we can not see everything we tend to make our own conclusions and explanations to fill up the gaps. We have the urge to make the vision clearer; we make an effort to see. It is a dreamlike experience. For this reason there is a surrealistic touch in the project. The participants will create their own peep-boxes, a multidimensional adventure through the world of auto-sexuality and voyeurism.
